Mentoring Workshops

For new students and continuing undergraduates, we offer mentoring workshops where students can comfortably converse with the committee members of MUGS, who each have a range of knowledge. These discussions may be in regards to topics such as unit choices, what to expect throughout completing a degree, what is expected on field trips, how to prepare for field trips and much more. 

Monthly Mixers

Once a month we will hold a society 'mixer' where anyone who is a member of MUGS can show up, enjoy some nibblies and refreshments and chat to those they may not have had the chance to meet. This will also offer the opportunity to unwind and chat to other people within the society who may study or have experience in a completely different area of Geoscience to yourself.

Inaugural Science Ball

Starting in 2016, it was decided that MUGS would host an inaugural science ball. The first ball was such a hit and an enjoyable night for all those involved. It is not only a chance for our society to come together at the end of a tough year and celebrate all that has been accomplished but it is also a chance to involve other societies and get to know a number of different and diverse members of Macquarie University who also share a passion for science.
